• Runyon Canyon Park

• Lake Hollywood Park

The pet-friendly Lake Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, CA, is where the locals bring their dogs for playtime and socialization under the Hollywood sign. There are signs stating that dogs should be kept on a leash, and rangers do visit to enforce these rules.

• Mildred E Mathias Botanical Garden

The Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden (MEMBG) is a 7-acre public garden on the UCLA campus and open free to the public. Leashed dogs are welcome. Located on the beautiful campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), this garden maintains one of the most important living botanical collections in the United States, with plant specimens from all over the world.

• Hollyridge Trail at Griffith Park

Explore the sycamore-filled Sullivan Canyon with Fido on this 8.5-mile round trip trail.

• Mount Hollywood Trail at Griffith Park

Mount Hollywood Trail is an easy, 3-mile hike in Griffith Park that will take about 1.5 hours to complete with Fido. This section of the mountain is owned by the city and offers what are quite possibly the best views of the Hollywood sign and the Los Angeles Basin. You will also enjoy the scenery as you look over at the San Gabriels or out to the ocean. Just make sure to keep Fido on a leash during the hike and clean up any pet messes. The trail can be accessed by parking at either the Griffith Observatory or at the Ferndell Trail in Los Feliz.

• Arts District Dog Park

Arts District Dog Park is a small, private, non-profit dog park with separate areas for small or timid dogs. The park is run run by volunteers in the community.

• Lower Canyonback Trail

Spend a couple hours out on the trail with Fido on this 4.2-mile hike, ascending Canyonback Ridge and enjoying beautiful view of west LA, Santa Monica Bay, the Santa Monica Mountains, and the Getty Museum.

• Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area

Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area in Los Angeles, CA, is dog-friendly. Fido can join you on the five miles of trails at the park. The recreation area is also home to native coastal sage scrub habitat, lawns and landscaped areas, picnic sites, playgrounds, a fishing lake, and a lotus pond. Dogs are permitted in County parks and on trails as long as the dog is on a leash, no longer than 6 feet in length and under the full control of the owner.

• Echo Park Lake

Echo Park Lake is dog-friendly! Leashed dogs are welcome on the paths around the lake at this East Los Angeles park. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

• Westfield Century City

Westfield Century City is L.A.’s quintessential open-air shopping experience, with Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Macy's, Eataly, and over 200 shops and eateries. Guests with dogs are welcome to use one of the two convenient pet relief areas directly behind Constellation Blvd Valet or on Level 2 near Healthy Spot. Enjoy a grassy play area, place to cool off with our misting “fire hydrant” and doggy relief clean-up bags.

• Angel City Brewery

Angel City Brewery specializes in craft beer, and they welcomes dogs to join their humans in nearly every area, with the exception of the brewing area. Just keep your dog leashed at all times and clean up after them.

• Old Zoo Picnic Area at Griffith Park

This unique attraction in Griffith Park for a picnic or some games in the adjacent grassy area. The Old Zoo Picnic Area site was once the home of the former LA Zoo before the zoo moved to its current location. The abandoned zoo has since been turned into a picnic area with old animal cages and exhibits.

• Fryman Canyon Loop

Fryman Canyon Loop is a 3-mile loop along the Betty B. Dearing Trail through Wilacre Park and Coldwater Canyon Park. This loop will also take you around Fryman Canyon in Studio City.

• Sullivan Ridge Trail

Bring your pet for a hike along the Sullivan Ridge Trail between Rustic Canyon and Sullivan Canyon. This out-and-back hike can be as long as 12.6 miles round trip if you want to travel all the way to the end and back again.

• Disneyland Resort Kennel Club

The Disneyland Kennel Club is located adjacent to the main entrance of the park. Dog owners may use the kennel club while they are in the park. Attendants are not permitted to feed, water, or walk pets, so owners must come back to attend to their pet's needs throughout the day.

Dogs are allowed to join their owners at Brewheim in Anaheim. They describe themselves as a family of beer makers, creating their very own selection of quaffable delights for you to indulge in.

• Olive Hills Dog Park

Bring your pet to the Olive Hills Dog Park to play off-leash. The Dog Park features separate large and small dog areas, a perimeter walking path, patches of artificial turf, agility equipment, benches, native plants, and a bronze K-9 Monument honoring the Anaheim Police Department K-9 Officers. Olive Hills Dog Park is open daily from dawn to dusk.

• Yorba Regional Park

Yorba Regional Park is pet-friendly. This linear day use park is one mile long and 140 acres, situated in the mouth of Santa Ana Canyon in the city of Anaheim. The park goes alongside the Santa Ana River. Dogs are welcome to use the trails, as long as they are leashed an all mess cleaned up after them. The park is open every day of the week from 7am to 9pm.

• La Palma Dog Park

Located in La Palma Park, one of the largest parks in Anaheim, La Palma Dog Park is the perfect place to play off-leash! The Dog Park features small and large dog areas, shade trees, benches, and drinking fountains. La Palma also features a monument in honor of the Anaheim Police Department's K-9 officers.

• Pumpkin City

Pumpkin City is a dog-friendly seasonal store and amusement park in Anaheim, CA. Leashed dogs are welcome to accompany you as you select the perfect pumpkin or Christmas tree.

• Rosie's Dog Beach

Rosie's Dog Beach is located along Ocean Blvd between Roycroft and Argonne Avenues in Long Beach, CA. This area is not fenced in and is not a dedicated "dog beach." Some bags are provided in dispensers, but users are encouraged to bring their own bags from home. The Dog Zone is in effect from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. Rosie's Dog Beach one may be closed occasionally due to a special event or poor beach conditions. Dogs are not permitted at times other than scheduled hours, or any other place than Dog Zone and access paths. Please see the website for more dog beach rules.

• Huntington Dog Beach

Huntington Dog Beach in California is considered doggy-heaven by most visitors. Dogs come from all over the world to play in the sand and splash in the surf. Visitors are asked to abide by good doggy etiquette which includes properly disposing of pet waste and ensuring that your dog is non-aggressive and under control at all times. Dog Beach amenities include public restrooms, grassy area with picnic tables, and drinking fountains for dogs and humans.

• Balboa Island Ferry

 The dog-friendly Historic Balboa Island Ferry in Newport Beach, CA, provides continuous service for drivers and passengers in vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians and dogs between Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. The crossings are approximate 800 feet. Via bridges, an alternate route is possible; but the traveling distance increases up to six miles. Many choose the ferry's direct route and scenic crossing.
